I’m Kylie Stough. I am a licensed therapist (LPC/MHSP), life coach, speaker, writer, wife, and mother of two.

I’m passionate about empowering others who find themselves stuck in life, struggling to free themselves from the hurts, heartbreaks, and hang-ups that can sometimes consume them. Occasionally, these obstacles can be rooted in the past, and sometimes they can come from the challenges you’re facing today. Either way, one thing is for sure…there is help.

How my passion developed

Early on in life I always felt a calling to help others, although I wasn’t quite sure what that looked like. I’ve always been more of a listener than a talker and could probably make a sport out of people-watching. Determined to become a doctor, I instead became a registered nurse (yep, there’s a story in there), and for 15 years worked in obstetrics before finally realizing my heart was designed for something else.

I’ve worked with individuals in crisis (suicidal, homicidal, and acute psychosis) as a clinician with a local mobile crisis team for several years before transitioning to providing individual therapy full time.

Experience + Passion

Life is not always easy. You can seemingly do everything right, and still find yourself being knocked down. Or perhaps on the surface, you look like you have it all figured out—success, security, relationship, family—only to feel underneath the surface, insecure and unworthy? Like most, I have journeyed a unique life path that has led to where I am today. I want others to know that there is no shame in exploring who you are, where you’ve been, and embracing who you are today in order to have a more peaceful future.

How I help others

While my treatment philosophy is heavily influenced by the Cognitive Behavioral Model, I ultimately draw from multiple therapeutic processes and resources (such as CBT, Attachment theory, psychodynamic approach, TFCBT, and Solution-focused techniques, to name a few) to help my clients reach their therapy goals. I feel that personalizing my approach to the client’s specific needs and strengths offers the best chance at healing and long-term success.

Feel free to contact me for a free 15-minute consult if you have any questions or are unsure if therapy is right for you.
